Our Purpose
Living Hope Missions exists to build trusting and supportive relationships with individuals within disadvantaged communities, those experiencing food insecurity, or simply those struggling to make ends meet. Our support extends to the whole community regardless of nationality, ethnicity, religion or gender.
We partner with support and advocacy networks, promoting social interaction and community engagement, where people are empowered to grow personally, belong in the community and be positive contributors to society.
About Us
Living Hope Missions started in June 2019 with the main goal of providing practical support with 100% free food assistance to families and individuals within our local community. Over the last four years, we have increased our impact and footprint to regional New South Wales as well as serving our locals. We currently distribute 6 tonnes of food to over 2000 individuals weekly.
Although we started as a food relief program, we are expanding to other services including our Wardrobe of brand-new clothes, Community Meal, Community Hub and Advocacy. We believe people deserve to be cared for holistically and no one should have to go hungry. Our mission strives to make a positive impact on the lives of those we serve. We offer free food at our Camperdown premises and a weekly distribution to other local charities, schools, universities and regional communities.

Community Meals
Community Meals runs on a fortnightly basis 12:30-1:30pm before our regular Food Pantry collections. Our Community Meals program is a collaborative effort with Mission Australia who generously support us by providing access to their commercial kitchen at Common Ground.
Together with our volunteers, we prepare and serve hot, nutritious meals to individuals and families. This is an opportunity to share a meal and create space for conversations and connection.

ESL English Class
English as a Second Language (ESL) classes are invaluable for individuals who are learning English as a new language. These classes help non-native English speakers improve their language skills, enhance their communication abilities, and increase their opportunities for education and employment. By offering ESL classes, Living Hope Missions supports community members in building their language proficiency and becoming more integrated into their new environment.
-
Art Classes
Art classes provide an outlet for creativity and self-expression, fostering personal growth and well-being. They can serve as a therapeutic and empowering activity for individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Art classes offer opportunities to learn various art techniques, explore different mediums, and develop artistic skills. Additionally, they can help build self-confidence, promote cultural exchange, and provide a platform for community members to showcase their talent and share their stories.

Knitting
‘Wrap with Love’ is a initiative where volunteers come together to create warm blankets for those in need. It's a meaningful way to improve people's lives, especially in the winter months or for those who are struggling. These blankets are typically made by knitting or crocheting squares that are then joined together to form large, cozy wraps. The blankets are distributed to vulnerable individuals, such as the homeless, refugees, or those facing extreme weather conditions.

Stretch & Strengthen
This new hub focuses on encouraging people to move – physical activity run by professional practitioners. Moving is so crucial for our mental health, it improves brain function, and mood, lowers the risks of many diseases, and strengthens bones and muscles. Each month we focus on a different area and the participants love it – we already covered hip mobility, knees, balance and core. If you would like to participate, we run the Stretch and Strength hub on the fourth Tuesday of the month 12-1PM.

Wardrobe
Every second month, we host a ‘Wardrobe’ where attendees can access an item or two of clothing, accessories, and at times toys, all for free. This is made possible with the support of Thread Together and Good360.
Local Community Distributions
Most Important Meal School Program
The Most Important Meal project was founded by Living Hope Missions and Capspace with the purpose of providing young lives with the most important meal of the day, breakfast. Their goal was to end food insecurity by providing food assistance to the local community. They quickly expanded their food relief program, including into schools. Today, they support 31 school programs, and counting.
After seeing the impact they were making, and the lives they were transforming, Capspace wanted to get involved and support Living Hope Missions to achieve their goals.
Through the generous support of our partner and volunteer network, we are able to make regular deliveries of food and other essential items to schools within Sydney.
